St.
Oswald’s is a
small school of
four classes:
Nursery,
Reception, Year 1
and Year 2.
Occasionally,
depending on the
number of children
in each year
group, the classes
maybe mixed. There
are 26 part-time
children in the
Nursery classes,
attending 5
morning or 5
afternoon
sessions. All
infant classes
have a statutory
limit of 29 but
are usually
between 24 and 29.
The
small size of the
school enables
staff to know all
children and their
parents, and
parental
involvement is an
important feature
of the school.
Parents take part
in school life as
Parent Governors
and classroom
helpers and the
activities of the
Friends of the
School provide
tremendous
benefits.
We
regard parents as
partners in the
learning process
of each child and
greatly value the
support they give
to their child’s
learning.
Teachers are
always willing to
discuss progress
and concerns with
parents. Appointments can
be made to see
either the Head
Teacher or Class
Teacher.
